This intricate design follows the same pattern as the Japanese form of chainmail used by the Samurai...with a twist - each ring is doubled! So whilst a European mail has 5 rings as its basic unit - 4 through 1, this pattern has 14 rings as its basic unit - 12 through 2! As such this style is incredibly time consuming to create, but the results are well worth it. The feel of this piece is incredible. Made from my polished aluminium rings in 1.6mm x 6.5mm and 1.2mm x 4mm it's one of those pieces where I really wish I had good glasses! It comes with a toggle clasp and can be extended to fit if you have a large wrist.
